FlyingHello Data Deletion

Last Updated: 7 October 2026

This page explains how to delete the data FlyingHello holds for you, what is removed, and how long it takes. It applies to the FlyingHello Shopify app and to the Instagram and Facebook accounts you connect to it.

Two ways to ask
Inside the app

Open FlyingHello from your Shopify admin, go to Settings, and choose Delete my data. Your content and your account are removed straight away, not queued for later. The page you see when you confirm is your confirmation.

By email

Write to service@flyinghello.com from the email address on your account. We will answer within 30 days.

Either route deletes the same things.

What we delete
  • Your FlyingHello account and your login

  • Everything FlyingHello generated for you, images, video and captions, including the copies held by our media hosting provider

  • Your Shopify store record and its connection keys

  • The access tokens for the Instagram and Facebook accounts you connected

  • The brand voice we built from your posts, and the analysis we built from your product descriptions

  • Your credit balance and your credit history

Everything above is removed from the live service immediately.

What we do not delete
Posts that are already published

Anything already live on Instagram or Facebook stays there. Those posts belong to your social accounts rather than to us, so you delete them from Instagram or Facebook yourself.

Posts you have already scheduled

Scheduled posts go out whether you uninstall or delete your data. Facebook holds the ones scheduled to a Page, and we hold the ones scheduled to Instagram. If you do not want them, cancel them in FlyingHello before you delete, and delete the Facebook ones in Facebook.

Billing and tax records

Canadian law requires us to keep records of what was charged, currently for six years. These are financial records. They are not your content and they are not used to run your account.

Uninstalling is not the same as deleting

Uninstalling the app in your Shopify admin removes our access to your Shopify store. About two days later Shopify sends us an erase request and we remove your store's connection keys and the analysis we built from your product descriptions.

That is all it removes. Your FlyingHello account, your generated content, your credits, your Instagram and Facebook connections and the brand voice built from your posts all stay, so that everything is there if you come back.

If you want all of it gone, use Delete my data. You can do that before or after you uninstall.

Backups

Our database backups expire on their own within 28 days. A deletion is applied to the live service straight away, and the backup copies fall away as those backups expire. Nothing is kept beyond that, and nothing is used for anything in the meantime.

No confirmation email

We do not send one, because your email address is deleted along with everything else and there is nothing left on our side to write to. The confirmation page you see in the app is the confirmation.

Checking on a request

When a deletion runs we keep one small record that it happened, holding a reference code and your account identifier. It exists so that you, or Meta on your behalf, can check the status of the request. It contains none of your content.

To check on a request, email service@flyinghello.com with the reference code shown on the confirmation page.

Deleting your data does not stop your subscription

This one catches people out. Your subscription is billed by Shopify, not by us. Deleting your data inside the app does not uninstall the app, so the subscription keeps running and the charges keep coming.

To stop being charged you must cancel the subscription or uninstall the app in your Shopify admin. Uninstalling cancels the recurring charge, although the current billing period may still be charged.

Cancel first, then delete. If you delete your data without cancelling, the charges that follow are your responsibility, and because Shopify takes the payment rather than us, a billing query has to be raised with Shopify.
